âŦ›PLOT PROTOCOL

Top-level Protocol Rules and Low-level Modules

The Bitplot Project started in mid-june 2023 as an entrant into the Bitmap ecosystem. At the time, both .plot namespace and $PLOT BRC-20 were announced as tandem assets. Claiming .plot has been open and fair as was the $PLOT token fair mint which minted out in about 1 week.

Moving forward, the PLOT PROTOCOL will dictate what is a valid and invalid claim for .plot and track $PLOT market activity to validate transactions including SUBPLOT tokens (block-specific $PLOT tokens).

The concept of a "tap" is required to request validation which is a self-send transaction of the .plot claim inscription. The smart indexer will detect the tap as a signal and if requirements are met and is a valid claim, the transaction will verified and account balances reflected accordingly.

Introducing .PLOT Claim Difficulty

Starting at block 802,888, claiming .plot requires more "work" than only inscribing a text string of the block height (number) preceding .plot (i.e. 210000.plot). The Plot Protocol requires that a claim be accompanied with at least 21 SUBPLOT $PLOT tokens (block-specific $PLOT tokens).

Then you need to "tap" to request protocol validation by sending the claim inscription to yourself (self-send).

The Bitplot indexer and tracker will handle the validation request.

You can purchase $PLOT on secondary markets since the supply was minted out on July 3rd 2023.

Starting at block 808,888, claiming .plot requires more "work" than only inscribing the block height (number) preceding .plot (i.e. 210000.plot). The Plot Protocol requires that a claim be accompanied with 21 sats mined in that block plus at least 21 SUBPLOT $PLOT tokens (block-specific $PLOT tokens) be located at same address as the claim inscription.

Then you need to "tap" to request protocol validation by sending the claim inscription to yourself (self-send).

The Bitplot indexer and tracker will handle the validation request.

You can scan your wallet(s) for these sats and isolate and move them to the address of the claim inscription. You can also purchase these sats from various market providers.

Starting at block 888,888, claiming .plot requires the first 21 sats mined in that block plus at least 21 SUBPLOT $PLOT tokens (block-specific $PLOT tokens) be located at same address as the claim inscription.

Then you need to "tap" to request protocol validation by sending the claim inscription to yourself (self-send).

The first sat is considered an uncommon sat and carries a significantly higher market price than common sats and other "rare" sats. This will be the most difficult type of claim which would begin in approximately 600 days from today, August 8th 2023 5:13pm EST. It is possible that by then, all .plot would already be claimed except for newly created blocks each day after this date.

Note: The Bitplot Indexer and UI will list all valid .plot claims and will be made available soon.

Modules

These docs contain transparent ideas and drafts of what might be more formally used within the Bitverse driven by Ordinals and Bitmap Theory. Currently there are a variety of proposed protocols under the PLOT umbrella as PLOT:<PROTOCOL_NAME>. This is done to try a modular approach to encompass a variety of possible logical use cases. Check out the JSON examples of early iterations of the Protocol.
